As part of its effort to bolster Public support for the courts, the Am
erican Judicature Society's State Court Resources Committee has commis
sioned articles describing locally based court-community cooperative e
fforts. The first article, describing New York's court watching progra
m, appeared in the March-April 1997 issue. This article describes the
role of volunteers in New Jersey's child placement review process. Art
icles about cooperative programs also appear on the AJS web site (www.
ajs.org).
