AN INTERFEROMETRIC ARRAY GENERATOR WITH POLARIZING ELEMENTS

Interferometric methods for array generation offer various advantages over the diffractive methods, but the efficiency of such interferometr ic methods so far reported are very low, making its applicability very low. In view of this, an experimental setup using polarizing elements for an eight-fold increase in the efficiency of an interferometric ar ray generator-the Michelson interferometers in tandem setup (P. Senthi lkumaran and R. S. Sirohi, Optics Communications, 105 (1994) 158)-is p resented in this paper. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
