The catalytic performances of zinc molybdate for oxidative dehydrogena
tion of isobutane are reported. The effects of N-2, water steam and th
e volume ratio of isobutane/O-2 in feed gas are studied. The selectivi
ty to isobutene increases with the increasing of isobutane/O-2 ratio,
but the conversion of isobutane decreases. The steam added in feed gas
can improve the isobutene selectivity while N-2 in feed gas shows an
unfavorable influence. The acid sites on the surface of zinc molybdate
are mainly weak ones, which can promote the oxidative dehydrogenation
of isobutane into isobutene.
