Abstract
Two dopants with condensed aromatic rings were examined. Hexabenzobenz ene (coronene) and tri-peri-naphthylenebenzene (decacyclene) were resp ectively doped into blue organic electroluminescent (EL) cells. The co ronene-doped cell exhibited a blue-green emission of 5300 cd/m(2) at 1 7 V. The decacyclene-doped cell exhibited a green emission of 12300 cd /m at 19 V. Lifetime of the decacyclene-doped cell was greatly improve d. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
