Abstract
The photochromic behaviour of -(N,N-dimethylamino)phenyl]-3H-naphtho[2 ,1-b]pyran (2) and 2-bis[4-(N,N-dimethylamino)phenyl]-2H-1-benzopyran (3) has been studied by flash photolysis and compared to 3,3-diphenyl- 3H-naphtho[2,1-b]pyran (1) in order to delineate effects due to the N, N-dimethylamino groups.
