Abstract
A new highly effective procedure has been developed for the preparatio n of 2-hydroxyisophthaldehyde from 2,6-dimethylphenol. The X-ray cryst al structure shows infinite chains of molecules joined by hydrogen bon ds. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
