S. Nakayama et al., THE (LI-7,BE-7) REACTION AS A SPIN-PROBE FOR ISOVECTOR EXCITATIONS, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 402(2-3), 1998, pp. 367-370
The (Li-7,Be-7) reaction was found to be used to separate Delta S = 0
and Delta S = 1 transitions through the coincidence measurement of the
gamma-ray from deexcitation of the 0.43 MeV state of Be-7 at an incid
ent energy of 65A MeV on Li-6, Li-7, C-12 and Zr-90 nuclei. The reacti
on was shown to proceed predominantly via one-step reaction process. P
redominance of one-step process means utility for derivation of spin-f
lip and non spin-flip strengths for isovector excitations in medium he
avy nuclei at intermediate incident energies. The relative nuclear spi
n-strength P-sf was deduced for isovector excitations.
