Abstract
The (Li-7,Be-7) reaction was found to be used to separate Delta S = 0 and Delta S = 1 transitions through the coincidence measurement of the gamma-ray from deexcitation of the 0.43 MeV state of Be-7 at an incid ent energy of 65A MeV on Li-6, Li-7, C-12 and Zr-90 nuclei. The reacti on was shown to proceed predominantly via one-step reaction process. P redominance of one-step process means utility for derivation of spin-f lip and non spin-flip strengths for isovector excitations in medium he avy nuclei at intermediate incident energies. The relative nuclear spi n-strength P-sf was deduced for isovector excitations.
