Sf. Lazarev, DETERMINING THE COORDINATES OF LINEARLY EXTENDED ELECTROMAGNETIC-FIELD SOURCES, Russian journal of nondestructive testing, 33(7), 1997, pp. 471-477
A theory is given that enables one to use signals from detectors that
vary in orientation in space in order to determine the coordinates of
linearly extended electromagnetic-field sources. Analytical formulas a
re derived relating the harmonic signal components to the coordinates
of the linearly extended field source. it is shown that the coordinate
s of electrically conducting can be determined without the use of stan
dards. Studies have been made on the harmonic components of the signal
for various detector shapes and orientations.
