Abstract
Three new dimesogenic compounds that are consisted of two mesogenic un its connected through a polymethylene spacer in the shape of the lette r T have been synthesized. The compounds were characterized for their liquid crystallinity by the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X -ray diffractometry and visual observation of the melts on a hot-stage attached to a polarizing microscope. All the compounds were found to form only nematic phase and to be enantiotropic.
