Introduction. Drug-induced cutaneous pseudolymphomas are poorly report
ed. They clinically and pathologically mimick malignant lymphomas but
their evolution is benign after drug withdrawall. Case report. We here
in reported a ease of carbamazepin-induced pseudolymphoma in a 30 year
-old woman of particular interest because of the paucity of clinical s
ymptoms (only six papules of less than one centimetre each), Comments.
Phenytoins, carbamazepin, barbiturates and conversion enzyme inhibito
rs are the main drugs inducing cutaneous pseudolymphomas. These usuall
y mimick T-cell lymphomas. The clinical spectrum of cutaneous pseudoly
mphomas is broad including severe aspects, such as erythroderma or tum
oral eruption and bening appearing one as in our case. Drug investigat
ion is mandatory for each patient with lymphoma appearing cutaneous in
filtrates because dramatic and definitive healing of the lesion is alw
ays expected in case of pseudolymphoma.
