Abstract
The preparation and reaction of 3,3,3-trifluoropropiondithioacetals 5 as possible trifluoromethyl-containing synthons has been studied. The synthesis of alkyl 1-acetoxy-3,3,3-trifluoropropyl thioethers 6 from c ompounds 5 and the Lewis acid-mediated reactions of compounds 6 with e nol silyl ethers are also described.
