The intensity distribution of solar radio bursts observed in the frequ
ency band 0.245-17 GHz has heen derived statistically. The distributio
n law has been found to be quite different from that of a power law as
reported by earlier workers. This distribution leads to the error fun
ction, when the total number of bursts in any intensity range is found
out. The generalized distribution law can be approximated to the powe
r law only in the frequency band 0.65-2.8 GHz.
