Abstract
In this letter the application of the generalized duality transformati on is clarified. The analysis replies to the comment by Lakhtakia and Weiglhofer, which comment contains the claim that with duality one can support the assertion that Tellegen media are not uniquely recognizab le. The fallacy of the arguments of Lakhtakia and Weiglhofer is shown to result from incorrect understanding of duality.
