Abstract
The CH3CN ... HCl hydrogen-bonded complex has been synthesized in the channels of silicalite, a purely siliceous microporous material with t he MFI structure. The IR spectra of this complex show that the effect of the solid environment on the vibrational properties of CH3CN ... HC l adducts is significant and that the framework enhances the strength of the hydrogen bond.
