Abstract
Simple, tetranuclear cationic supramolecular squares with ligands at t he corners can be constructed using the geometry of the pyrimidine lig and and the directional tendencies of Ag-I coordination; the 1:1 Ag-I: pyrimidine squares have an open channel structure which facilitates se lective ion exchange of pertechnetate over nitrate.
