Two heteroleptic dmit complexes of polynuclear nickel(II), [NEt4](2)[N
i-5(edt)(4)(dmit)(2)] and [AsPh4](2)[Ni-3(pdt)(2)(dmit)(2)]. 0.5MeOH (
dmit = 2-thione-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolate, H(2)edt = ethane-1,2-dith
iol, H(2)pdt = propane-1,2-dithiol) are synthesized and characterized
by X-ray crystallography and display room-temperature conductivities o
f 1.75 x 10(-4) and 1.52 x 10(-5) S cm(-1); this is the first report o
f semiconducting heteroleptic dmit complexes consisting of more than t
wo nickel(II) centres.
