THERMAL-DISSOCIATION OF CESIUM DIMERS

A simple method of thermal dissociation of alkali metal dimers has bee n developed, in particular, the thermal dissociation of cesium dimers has been realized. The experimental dependence of the relative dimer d ensity on temperature in superheated cesium vapor has been obtained. A simple method for the determination of alkali metal dimer dissociatio n energy has been proposed and its value for the cesium dimer has been determined. This method is sensitive to the change of the amount of s ubstance investigated and this fact may be used for revealing the mutu al chemical neutrality of substances.
