Abstract
Two theoretical models for the division of droplets in a turbulent flo w were experimentally checked for high viscous liquids. The relationsh ips found between the polymer beads maximum diameters and the aqueous phase viscosity cannot be described by an inertial breakup but are in good agreement with a viscous shear breakup.
