Abstract
An optical resonator with a phase-shifting array end mirror is present ed to obtain an output beam of spatially suppressed far-field intensit y distribution from a CO2 laser with a slab waveguide gain medium. A h ighly spatially suppressed single-peak intensity distribution in the f ar field and a power of 46 W have been obtained from a 200-mm-gain-len gth device.
