Abstract
The renal handling of ofloxacin in rats which were given ofloxacin eit her alone or in combination with probenecid or cimetidine was studied. In the presence of cimetidine or probenecid, ofloxacin's total and re nal clearances were reduced and its half-life was prolonged. This sugg ests that ofloxacin is secreted by both the anionic and cationic trans port systems.
