Timelotem (1) is reduced at the dropping mercury electrode over the pH
range 1.0-12 in Britton Robinson buffers (BRP) containing 10% methano
l as a solubilizer. The drug is reduced over the pH range 1-4 in one w
ave (A) with consumption of 2e + 1H(+) and over the range 4-11 in two
waves (A(1), A(2)) with consumption of 2 - 3e + 2H(+). The well-define
d cathodic wave A is very suitable for analytical purposes, The electr
ode reaction is irreversible, The limit of the detection by densing cu
rrent polarography is in the range of 2.5.10(-6) mol.l(-1).
