Abstract
Three new bisdesmosidic triterpene saponins, zygophylosides I (1), L ( 2) and M (3), and three known quinovic acid glycosides were isolated f rom Zygophyllum gaetulum. The new compounds were determined to be 3 -( 1-->2)-beta-D-glucopyranosylurs-20(21)-en-28-oic acid 28-O-[beta-D-2-O -sulfonylglucopyranosyl] ester (1), 3 (1-->2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]ur s-20(21)-en-28-oic acid 28-O-[beta-D-glucapyranosyl] ester (2), and 3 -beta-D-quinovopyranosyl-27-nor-olean-12-en-28-oic acid 28-O-beta-D-gl ucopyranosyl ester (3) by use of 1D and 2D NMR techniques.
