MODELING THE GLASS-FORMING PROCESS

This paper develops a finite element model of coupled thermomechanical systems in two dimensions subject to large deformation and general bo undary conditions. Drawing inspiration from the industrial blow glass process, the model seeks a systematic approach in implementing boundar y conditions As such, the constraint forcing term is obtained via proj ections into the range space and null space of the constraint matrix. The technique is illustrated with a simulation example.
