Abstract
Anhydrous indium trichloride (InCl3) is found to catalyze the imino Di els-Alder reactions of Schiffs bases with cyclopentadiene, cyclohexen- 2-one and cyclohepten-2-one which resulted in facile synthesis of cycl opentaquinolines, azabicyclooctanones and previously unreported series of azabicyclononanones.
