Abstract
After 3 days of amoxicillin administrated for infectious mononucleosis , a 76-year-old man's condition worsened associating polyadenopathy wi th encephalic and hepatic involvement. This case should remind physici ans about particular and unusual forms of infectious mononucleosis. It suggests that restrictions on the use of ampicillin or amoxicillin sh ould be extended to elderly people when infectious mononucleosis is su spected.
