Abstract
The authors report a case of hemorrhagic dengue fever in France, a rem inder that travellers to tropical areas are at major risk for this dis ease. The 4 dengue viruses have spread to nearly all tropical countrie s. Clinical manifestations range from asymptomatic to fatal forms. Amo ng these, hemorrhagic dengue fever and dengue shock syndrome require e mergency treatment. Physicians should keep in mind that dengue is to b e considered as a diagnosis for acutely pyretic patients having travel lers to tropical countries.
