Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) is an uncommon eruptive disorder of the
skin and mucous membranes with systemic manifestation. It is extremel
y unusual for patients with a past history of SJS to present with indi
cations for surgery necessitating thoracotomy. We describe herein the
perioperative management of a patient with SJS who underwent surgery f
or a spontaneous pneumothorax.
