Abstract
The shaping of a signal that simulates a radar echo signal coming from a ground surface is analyzed. The surface reflectivity is modeled by a two-dimensional random process. A two-dimensional filtering algorith m is constructed for the case of a random process characterized by an exponential correlation function. The algorithm can be used to generat e samples of the simulated signal when the statistical characteristics of surface reflectivity are prescribed.
