Abstract
The partial melting behavior in the electrophoretically deposited Bi2S r2CaCu2O8+delta/Ag tapes has been investigated. The results indicate f or the first time that the partial melting is non-uniform in the begin ning, that is, the partial melting initiates at a number of sites near the oxide/Ag interface and then spreads both across the broad surface and through the thickness. The initial partial melting temperature of Bi-2212 precursor powder depends on the intimacy of the contact betwe en Bi-2212 powder and the silver substrate. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
