The fine-tuning principles for estimating heavy-particle masses in the
left-right-symmetric model are analyzed. The Veltman condition is mod
ified on the basis of the hypothesis that fermion and boson vacuum ene
rgies are compensated within the multiplets of the left-right model. T
he hypothesis is supplemented with the requirement of stability under
rescaling. On the basis of these requirements, it is shown that the ri
ght-handed Majorana neutrinos with masses on the order of the mass of
right-handed gauge bosons must exist, and the top-quark mass is estima
ted. The resulting estimate is in good agreement with the experimental
value.
