Jm. Salazar, CROSS-CULTRUAL RESEARCH IN 30 YEARS OF TH E INTER-AMERICAN-JOURNAL-OF-PSYCHOLOGY, Interamerican journal of psychology, 31(2), 1997, pp. 169-184
The articles published in the Interamerican Journal of Psycholgy durin
g 30 years were analysed in order to identify those that take into acc
ount the cultural dimension. Almost half of the articles were so class
ifiable. On the basis of these 183 articles, diverse variables are ana
lysed: type of study, populations, studied, thematic areas, statistica
l analysis used, and particularly the goal of the research regardign e
ither the search for similarities or the establishment of differences.
The different variables are related and certain changes are identifia
ble amongst Latin American authors indicating progress towards a Cultu
ral Psychology.
