Stm. Lane et Mdq. Defreitas, GROUP PROCESSES FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF M ARTINBARO,IGNACIO - CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT 6 CONCRETE CASES, Interamerican journal of psychology, 31(2), 1997, pp. 293-308
The present article recovers the Martin-Barb proposal with respect to
genesis and maintenance of the groups by focusing on group identity, a
ctivity, and power processes which pervade their relations. Conditions
, characteristics, and relations established in six groups, on natural
context, in the city of Sao Paulo - Brazil, are described: group of s
enior citizens, group of women, group of power company workers, group
of volunteer teachers, group of people with disabilities, and group of
children. The processes relative to identity building in these groups
are analyzed, as well as the individual and social meaning of the act
ivities within each group, and the kind of resources they employ to ex
ert Fewer internally and externally.
