Ae. Tonelli, HIGH-RESOLUTION NMR AS A LOCAL PROBE OF STRUCTURE, CONFORMATION, AND MOBILITY IN SOLID POLYMERS, Journal of molecular structure, 355(1), 1995, pp. 105-119
Because the NMR frequency of a dipolar nucleus is exquisitely sensitiv
e to the structural and conformational natures of its immediate enviro
nment, high resolution NMR can be utilized to probe the structures, co
nformations, and motions (via resonance relaxation) of the constituent
molecules belonging to solid samples. By means of a single polymer ex
ample (polypropylene) we attempt to illustrate how structural, conform
ational, and motional information about solid polymers can be obtained
by employing high resolution, solid state NMR.
