Ds. Kainth et al., TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT LANDAU DAMPING OF THE ACOUSTIC PLASMON IN A BILAYER SYSTEM, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 57(4), 1998, pp. 2065-2068
We report temperature effects in the Landau damping of the acoustic pl
asmon mode in a double-quantum-well system. Its dispersion has been me
asured using Raman spectroscopy and modeled within the random-phase ap
proximation (RPA). The Landau damping of the acoustic plasmon has also
been modeled within the RPA using a O-K Hubbard correction, with mixe
d success. This points to the need for further theoretical work on loc
al-field corrections at higher temperatures, but shows the value of th
e study of the temperature dependence of Landau damping as a probe of
many-body effects.
