The vibrations of the in-plane rotor system with nonlinear elastic and
geometric properties are considered in this paper. The vibrations of
the rotor are described as the system of ten partial differential equa
tions and ten boundary conditions. Approximate Galerkin procedure is u
sed to obtain the second order nonlinear differential equation. The re
sponse frequencies of the system are discussed. It is shown that they
are functions of angular velocity of the rotor and nonlinear propertie
s of the system.
