Abstract
The processes of resonant absorption, vacuum heating, and anomalous sk in effect in plasmas produced by a laser pulse are studied using the t wo-dimensional multi-time-scale, fully electromagnetic relativistic pa rticle simulation code with mobile ions. The mechanisms of electron he ating are expounded and compared. (C) 1998 American Institute of Physi cs.
