Abstract
We have studied, in the framework of the two-band lattice model, the p ersistent current in a one-dimensional mesoscopic semiconductor ring t hreaded by a flux phi, taking into consideration the electron-phonon i nteraction at absolute zero temperature. The current is a continuous f unction and periodic in phi, with a flux quantum phi(0), without jumps occurring when each period is over. The interband coupling enhances t he current while the electron-phonon interaction suppresses it.
