The weather resistance design of building facades requires adequate kn
owledge on the wind and rain environments around the building. Wind-dr
iven rain intensity on building faces was first studied with on site m
easurements. More recently numerical method using computational fluid
dynamics technique were proposed. However, the method was based on a m
ean flow condition without taking the effect of gusts into account. In
the present paper a numerical method for the simulation of wind-drive
n rain around a building with the effect of gust incorporated is propo
sed. Some preliminary results on the effects due to two types of gust
simulation (a) small uncorrelated gust and (b) large correlated gust a
re presented.
