Jd. Ginger et al., INTERNAL-PRESSURES IN A LOW-RISE FULL-SCALE BUILDING, Journal of wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics, 72(1-3), 1997, pp. 163-174
Theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and full-scale measurements
were carried out to investigate internal pressures at the WERFL low-r
ise full-scale test building at Texas Tech. The mean and fluctuating i
nternal pressure coefficients are small in the nominally sealed buildi
ng; and increase with increasing windward/leeward open-area ratio. The
effects of building flexibility on the internal pressure fluctuations
are accounted for, in this study. Internal pressure fluctuations abov
e a characteristic frequency are attenuated in the nominally sealed bu
ilding. The internal pressure energy is increased close to the Helmhol
tz frequency, in the building with a single-dominant opening.
