Grief and depressive syndrome belong to normal reaction by parents aft
er a sudden infant death (SID). In two following we report on two case
s from the point of view of psychiatry and forensic medicine in which,
subsequent to SID, mothers reacted with extremly grave depression and
accused themselves of having killed Che child. Furthermore, some reco
mmendiations are given for the care of parents affected.
