A novel microdisk containing organic emitting material rare-earth comp
lex Eu(TTA)(2) . NO3 . 2TPPO has been fabricated. The microdisk mode p
attern in a microdisk with radius of 9.1 mu m is visually observed fro
m fluorescence microscopic image. The observed microdisk mode pattern
reflects a combining contribution of Whispering-Gallery Modes and Surf
ace-Emitting Modes. The radial emission intensity profile near the cir
cumference is well consistent with the ''Whispering Gallery Mode'' app
