Phonon anomalies in intermediate valence compounds SmxLa1-xS (x = 0.90
, 0.75, 0.65) have been investigated by using breathing shell model (B
SM). The BSM includes breathing motion of electron shells of the rare
earth atom due to f-d hybridization. The phonon dispersion curves of i
ntermediate valence compounds (IVC) SmxLa1-xS, calculated from present
model follow the same trend as observed in other IVCs. We have also c
alculated the one phonon density of states. We could not compare our r
esults with experimental measurements as they are not available so far
