We report an experimental study of a new technique for localization of
absorption areas of surface acoustic waves in devices utilizing SAW.
The technique is based on a corollary of the fluctuation-dissipation t
heorem. By this theorem, thermal radiation at the system output is for
med by its components. We demonstrated experimentally that in such way
it is possible to localize areas with a minimum SAW absorption of abo
ut 0.1 dB with a spatial resolution of about 1 mm.
