A. Goel et Ak. Madan, STRUCTURE-ACTIVITY STUDY OF ANTIEPILEPTIC N-ARYL-ISOXAZOLECARBOXAMIDES N-ISOXAZOLYLBENZAMIDE ANALOGS USING WIENER TOPOLOGICAL INDEX/, Structural chemistry, 8(2), 1997, pp. 155-159
The relationship between Wiener's topological index and the antiepilep
tic activity of a series of N-aryl-isoxazole carboxamides/N-isoxazolyl
benzamide analogs has been investigated. Values of Wiener's topologica
l index for 69 compounds constituting the training set were computed a
nd an active range was identified. Each analog was subsequently assign
ed an activity which was then compared with the reported antiepileptic
activity against the maximal electroshock seizure (MES) test. Due to
significant correlation between antiepileptic activity and Wiener's to
pological index, it was possible to predict antiepileptic activity wit
h an accuracy of similar to 91% in the active range.
