Abstract
The O-17 and H-1 NMR chemical shifts of water [delta((OH2)-O-17), delt a((H2O)-H-1)] in aqueous solutions of NaCl, NaBr, NaI, NaNO3, NaClO4, NaOH, KCl, KBr, KNO3 and KOH have been measured and used to determine the delta(O-17), and delta(H-1) chemical shifts of hydroxide ion and s ome of its aqua-complexes. The delta(O-17), and delta(1H) chemical shi fts for the OH-...nH(2)O and H+...nH(2)O complexes are discussed.
