Ty. Malysheva et Oa. Dolitskaya, A NEW APPROACH TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENERGY-SAVING PROCESSES IN THE PRODUCTION OF IRON-ORE STOCK, Russian metallurgy. Metally, (1), 1995, pp. 1-6
This report describes the first in world practice attempt to fill in t
he ''gap'' between an iron ore deposit and the agglomerated product ma
de of this ore. It is proposed to take account not only of such widesp
read quality indexes as the content of iron and silica in the concentr
ate, but also of the chemical composition of the iron-containing miner
als and of the thermal properties of the silicon-containing minerals.
The phase composition of the ore is considered as the criterion for se
lecting the product most suitable to be made of the given ore, also as
the basis for developing a effective energy-saving production technol
ogy.
