Abstract
Effect of hyperbaric oxygenation (10-12 exposures at 1,3-1,6 atmospher es 40 min each) on efficacy of antianginal drugs (long acting nitrates , beta-adrenoblockers and nifedipine) used in average closes was studi ed by repetitive bicycle exercise tests in 108 patients with ischemic heart disease and stable angina (functional class II-III). In patients with short history of the disease hyperbaric oxygen did not exert sig nificant antianginal activity and did not affect efficacy of isosorbid e dinitrate, atenolol and nifedipine while in patients with disease du ration exceeding 2 years and Long history of the use of antianginal dr ugs it was able to increase efficacy of antianginal therapy.
