Abstract
O-acetyl-beta-D-glucopyranosyl)octadecane-1,3-diol was synthesized sta rting from toxy-5-hydroxy-beta-D-glucopyranosyloxy)hex-2-enal and used as a chiral amino component for building the amides (glucosylceramide s) of beta-glycyrrhizic acid and (5Z, 13E)-16-(3-chlorophenoxy)-9 alph a,11 alpha,15 trihydroxy-17,18,19,20-tetranor-5,13-prostadienoic acid (chloprostenol).
