Wf. Sternberg, SEX-DIFFERENCES IN DESCENDING PAIN MODULATORY PATHWAYS MAY CLARIFY SEX-DIFFERENCES IN PAIN, Behavioral and brain sciences, 20(3), 1997, pp. 466
This commentary addresses the strength of the comparative approach to
the study of sex differences in pain. Animal studies can focus our att

thereby providing an explanation for the observation of sex differenc
es in pain perception.
