Abstract
The zone stage of aging of high-strength Li-containing Al alloys has b een studied using electrical resistivity tests and diffraction electro n microscopy. The increase of resistivity at an early stage of aging i n comparison with as-quenched Al-Li-Mg alloys is attributed to Guinier -Preston zones in the form of Al and Li clusters of variable compositi on, which are regularly distributed in the matrix.
